From Antiqva hand, we heard about the celebration of the festival II Villar's Folk in Villar del Rey (Badajoz). Friday and Saturday, 4 and 5 July 2008 respectively. We hope to continue making successive editions and become a reference for folk music in our region, as may be the festival of Plasencia. Pass!
For the Balearic Islands has spent a great deal of cultures: Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans ... Now in Balearic Catalan and Castilian is spoken, but all these people have left their mark to a greater or lesser extent in the islands. And here is the birthplace Damià Timoner, a musician with his guitar espanyola in hand gives us with his Te'n recordes? (Fan Music, 2004) with the warmer Mediterranean melodies. This is a re-recording and compilation of their previous work and two unreleased tracks. The album runs like a long song, and the pauses between tracks seem to be hidden under the shadows from the setting sun of the Balearic coast. The accompaniment is simple, but sufficient, relying on occasional musician track to complete the songs: piano, cello, accordion ... And what about his playing, that strange mix of English and classical guitar, east versus west, modernity and tradition. In short, a beautiful album, intimate, but it is not traditional music, much less, we could fit it in the ethnic music English and Mediterranean. * 9 / 10 *

I had already forgotten ... I was reading a blog entry in which the author communicated the anniversary of his blog. I gave you for looking and found that the born 21/03/1907 Metro Music. A year and a few days in which we have received 15030 visits 97 countries. I do not know if they will be liked or not, are many or few visits or if the design and contents are of varying quality, but I enjoyed watching as I went forward.
